Spring Break Part I

This year we really enjoyed our spring break.  It was different for us to have break scheduled around Easter and have some time before and after to do special things.  

Even before the kids official break began we were blessed to have our friends Heather, Spencer and Alex come for a visit.  These kids really enjoy playing together and it was nice for me to have an "old" friend to catch up and spend time with again.  During the three days they were here we had some fun times.

One of our planned activities became a failed egg hunt, so we took the kids to the track to get out some energy.

Dying Eggs

Another PA first!

We've been here in PA for almost 10 months and just got our first cannon shot (picture)!  This weekend we got to experience Devil's Den and see Little Round Top with some good friends.  What a great way to get some energy out by climbing these rocks.

Yesterday marked another PA firsts, actually a Vargas kiddo 1st. I won't mention any names so not embarrass the person :) . We had our first detention! Someone happened to go up the wrong stairs at the wrong time. I tried not to laugh as I learned of it, and let the hour of detention be punishment.

Psych (or skype as Ryan says) on the last dose of antibiotics!

We are onto another 14 day round of meds for Ilaiza!  We went in today thinking that we would verify that we were done with all this strep.  However, she tested positive again!  I'm taking Josh and Shay in tomorrow to be tested.  Josh hasn't retested to make sure his is gone and Shay still has symptoms that we were trying to treat as allergies, with no relief.

Last dose of antibiotics!

If you took every dose of antibiotics taken in this home during the past two months and lined them up, it would be enough to go around our house one time!  Ok, just kidding, probably not that much, but it has to be close.  From 7 to 37 days is the range of days on the meds for all the kids and they had 10 positive strep tests. That ended tonight. The last dose was swallowed down.  One strep test remains to be done, just to make sure.  After that it's down the road conquering the allergies that are taking place of the bacteria.

Ryan was coloring this on his paper.  After making me guess what it was, he told me that it was a "Cup of Sea".  He then went on to explain the evaporation cycle and rain!  When I asked him where he learned that, he told me from Caliou.  Go PBS!

Blogging Plan

So as I'm going to try to stay current with blogging, I'm going to go back a bit at a time and include highlights from the past.  Since the photos on my computer start in Nov of '08, that's where I will go back to now and work my way up.  Eventually I will get to present day!
